Best barber in Lowestoft

Great place great haircut best barber in Lowestoft.

Having read the last review by a supposedly ex-customer, I felt compelled to write a counter- review. I'm not related to, or a friend of the owner, but I feel it unfair that any fool can jump on the Internet when his blessed hubris has been bruised. This is a business, this it's a livelihood!I used to go to another shop north of the Triangle in Lowestoft. The main hairdresser and owner was excellent, truly excellent, but the two young barbers/apprentices at the back of the shop needed to grow up and stop treating the workplace as a youth drop-in Centre. Did my head in, so I stumbled upon Envy. I'm so glad that I did! The owner is a top chap - no inane chatter, a knowledgeable, decent and down to earth human being. He's very similar to the chap I had before but without the background idiocy! His haircuts are the best I've ever had - edgy yet faithful to core essence of the style. If the owner had 'snapped' as before, well I'll say three things. (1) he's human - just because he's walked into his business door it doesn't make him turn into a single-cell automaton flagellum with no feelings!, (2) maybe he was exasperated that, as you'd 'been a loyal customer' for so long, that you'd never read any of the signs that said when he was open for walk-in appointments or (3) you misread him, failing to appreciate that he was working on another person - you possibly thought that he should treat you like royalty? Whatever!Pros: I've been impressed by everything at envy, especially the minutiae of detail such as comfy seating, chilling out to the XBox and a really top chap and barber doing my hair. Cons: Only slight con to this place is that the assistants are transitory but this may be as much a reflection of throw-away societal attitudes to employment or 'I want it my way' or 'I want maximal output for minimal input'. Mebbe - who knows?

I was a regular customer here for ages but after some changes in staff here, things in this barber shop changed, I wouldn't go back here now if the hair cuts were free. One example being, I went in on a Friday and was abruptly dismissed from the shop by the owner because it was an appointment only day, that is not such an issue in it's self, but more so the way in which he said it, then had the gall to say "alright buddy, we'll see you again", I've never gone back since, I would look after my regular customers, not have the attitude that I'm so cock sure of myself that I don't need your custom, that's the feeling here, I'll never be returning to Envy.
